Accreditation
Maintaining the Highest Standards in Online Legal Education
St. Francis School of Law is accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners (CBE) of the State Bar of California. The accreditation took effect August 21, 2020. For a time, St. Francis operated its pre-existing registered law school program in concert with its new accredited J.D. program, as students completed or transferred. St. Francis no longer operates the registered unaccredited law school J.D. degree program, but some students who transferred from that program to the school’s accredited J.D. program remain enrolled. This website will, therefore, contain consumer information for both programs.
Statement of Consumer Information: The Juris Doctor Degree Program at St. Francis School of Law (a division of Baker College) is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and by the Committee of Bar Examiners (CBE) of the State Bar of California. Study at, or graduation from, this law school may not qualify a student to take the bar examination or be licensed to practice law in jurisdictions other than California. A student who intends to seek licensure to practice law outside of California at any time during their career should contact the admitting authority for information regarding its education and licensure requirements prior to enrolling at this law school. Students enrolling in this program must either live in California or attest their intent to seek employment in California after completing the program, pursuant to 34 CFR 668.14(b)(32), effective July 1, 2024.
St. Francis has not been issued any Notice of Noncompliance by the Committee.
