Dean Carole J. Buckner announced that St. Francis School of Law has welcomed Helen Sklar to the St. Francis faculty. Professor Sklar will develop a course in immigration law, and will teach the course. Prof. Sklar is a Certified Specialist in immigration law who practices law with the law firm of Stone Grzegorek & Gonzales LLP, a full service immigration law firm in Los Angeles, California. She has practiced exclusively in the field of immigration and nationality law since 1985. Prior to that, she worked as a social worker on behalf of victim including battered women. She also previously worked for the National Center for Immigrants’ Rights, Inc. in Los Angeles.
Helen earned her B.A. and M.S. from the University of Madison, Wisconsin. She earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the State of California, Federal District Courts, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Prof. Sklar will bring her depth of knowledge into the St. Francis School of Law online classroom. St. Francis students attend live online classes, where they are able to see and hear their professors. We welcome Prof. Sklar to the faculty.
